Rules & Guidelines

These rules must be followed if you intend to participate!

  1. The content posted on the IG boards belongs solely to each respective writer. Do not reproduce, borrow, copy or steal their writing. You must have the express permission of an author if you wish to post the contents of their work elsewhere.

  2. Use proper grammar and capitalization AT ALL TIMES on the boards. We know it may sound petty and trivial, but there are many people who aren't going to read through a post full of typos, run together words, run-on sentences, and typing in all caps. No, this isn't English class, but we are attempting creative writing, so let's make our product readable so that people will want to respond.

  3. We post in story form, third person/past tense (Ex: 'Josie climbed onto the roof', NOT 'I climbed onto the roof' or 'Josie climbs onto the roof').

  4. To keep things simple, we ask that everyone keep an account for all of their OOC activity, separate from individual accounts for each character.

  5. In-game posts must adhere to our established colour and formatting scheme. Dialog appears in orange, flashbacks and dreams appear in limegreen, and thoughts appear in italics. For more information, see the entry in the FAQ.

  6. NEVER write dialogue or actions for another person's character, or injure or kill them without permission. You control your own characters. There may be times when another player gives you permission to move their character or take some action with them (and you're always welcome to contact the player privately and ask!), but in general, it's a nix!

  7. Give your posts some substance, and NEVER post a one-line (or one-paragraph) reply! One line/paragraph replies are quite aggravating to a writer that spent time and energy giving you several paragraphs. If someone is creating a world for you, do your part by adding to the world!

  8. Sex and violence occur everyday, even more so when dealing with Fantasy and Horror. However if your story is all sex with no plot, all violence with no plot, or you get 5 paragraphs into it and still haven't moved past the sex scene, it's not acceptable. Plot should always come first. Sprinkle sex and violence to taste, but remember it can kill your story, so use sparingly. The community is geared towards adults, but use some common sense and save the softcore porn for another forum.

  9. This should go without saying, but so we're clear: no flames, no trolls. Blatantly insulting behavior is prohibited. This includes insults to both posters and lurkers. It is perfectly permissible for characters to disagree, but if you have a problem with a writer, please contact them privately. If the problem persists, feel free to consult a member of the staff privately. Tempers may run high, but keep all discussions civil, please! "Flame War" participants, regardless of "who started it", will be dealt with severely.

  10. No spam. Spam is defined as any message which does not relate to the topic of the message board and is solely posted to advertise a personal site, a money making scheme, a chain letter, or something of that nature.

  11. The moderators reserve the privilege of banning offenders from the boards, temporarily or permanently, without warning. You may receive an official warning beforehand, or you may not, at the moderators' discretion, based on the severity of the offense.

  12. RESPECT YOUR FELLOW ROLEPLAYERS!

  13. HAVE FUN!!
